This week's MIX challenge is to use the concept of "patching" from our lives. I used left over papers make my fence and my sentiment panel. The tree is made from some burlap bought to make burlap flowers for a redo of a lamp for my youngest daughter. The fabric in the tree is from a potholder project with my oldest daughter (still not completed by the way - LOL). The ribbon is a scrap out of my ribbon box.
My patchwork in the tree is a bit unconventional but is what I went with. I cut the fabric with the smallest SB circle die (two at time or this would have been time consuming). Then I put a little glue in the middle of each circle and twisted it. Next I glued all the circles and placed them tightly next to each other to make my tree.
I get extra points because I sewed my top panel around the edges and I also sewed my tree trunk onto the page.
I used fabric, glue and ink - so I have two mediums.
This is a bit chunky but that tree feels sooooo cool.
Fun challenge. Hugz!

That noise you just heard was my jaw hitting the floor. Oh WOW Nancy this is fantastic. I love the design - the tree trunk and fence are terrific and you fabric tree top is a real show stopper. You should make a big canvas of this. Imagine making a tree like this with fabric from baby clothes, or a prom dress or something sentimental. TFS my friend. Another fav for sure. xx

Just stunning! I love the way you did the tree, and picking pink ribbon is perfect to pull the pink from the fabric. Very clever way to do patchwork! Thanks so much for playing my Mix-Ability challenge!
